Lock of Hair Teardrop Ring because photos don’t show every detail of your loved ones’ hair, your little one’s first curl or a little of your pets’ fur.

We will respectfully cast only your loved one’s hair or fur into resin and give you a choice of stones. You can see Nikki’s YouTube tutorials here and know that I never film without your permission. You might see my designs and stock images elsewhere because other memorial artists buy them from me over on Keepsaker Supplies (you’re welcome to buy from there if you’d rather DIY!)

You can view our colour option galleries here (click) for lots of examples of pieces using that colour mix. Each piece will look unique because of the natural colours of the hair or fur and we can’t predict the results and we must use colour (you can’t choose clear resin). We will use our best efforts with white hair, which is clear in resin, to give the hair some depth and bounce some light off the strands. If you’d like us to use grey, white, salt and pepper or very light blonde hair in the Megan Lock of Hair Ring then it may or may not show up in the resin, have a look at this white hair gallery

You can request some extras in your piece by clicking here. For example, our forget me not flower and gold leaf are very popular – please make sure you see the example photos (as always) to ensure you have a good idea of how they might look. Usually, less is more!

We’ll send you a kit a week or so after you order and here’s some advice on sending it in, please read it. It’s really important you keep some hair back just in case. You can send us a photo on our Facebook page of the amount you have, so we can tell you how much of it we need.

Silver Ring Settings

These totally handmade silver rings are available in several different styles of band. They are handcrafted by keepsake artist and jewellery designers and are made in-house. We use Argentium silver for most of our ring bands (except bubble and star bands), which is a little purer than sterling at 935 or 940 purity and are less likely to tarnish than sterling. Please note, the bubble and twist bands are the thinnest and may be prone to knocking, the most sturdy option is the wide, chunky or classic band, and you can request those to be brushed, satin, shiny, textured or tree bark in the comments (highly recommended).

These teardrop rings are ideal for daily wear, no longer having the scalloped edge which used to catch on clothing. The teardrop or pear setting is an 8x6mm solid sterling silver smooth edge bezel cup. We would also recommend a heart ashes ring here.

They are handcrafted by Nikki Kamminga and are made in-house.

Ring Size

You can choose “send sizer” from the ring size dropdown above and we will post one out with your kit. It’s no extra charge. Twisted and bubble wire rings will be made in the size provided and are comfort fit and easy to put on. The wide band rings such as textured, brushed and shiny will automatically be made a size bigger to allow for their width. Please do not use a tape measure! We can engrave 3mm and 6mm wide bands (satin, textured, tree bark) and classic bands, but unfortunately not bubble or twisted bands. Engraving is done in Arial font as standard, but please let us know if you’d prefer another font such as Times New Roman, Vivaldi, Amazone BT, or Silver South Serif & Script in the comments of the product before adding it to the basket. Click on each font to see it “in action” with your chosen words. We can work with any font, please get in touch to discuss alternatives. We recommend Arial, Times New Roman or Silver South Serif for long messages, and handwriting fonts like Vivaldi, Amazone BT or Silver South Script are great for short messages and on larger pieces. Copy and paste these emojis, sometimes the ones on a phone or tablet aren’t accepted when you try to add to basket!

Engraving is done on the inside of our silver bands as standard, please let us know in the comments if you’d prefer it on the outside.
