Lock of hair bead for Pandora bracelets, made with resin. We can place your loved ones’ hair, your little one’s first curl or a little of your pets’ fur into a charm bead with crystal clear resin. Using locks of human hair in jewellery has a long and rich tradition in many cultures which you can read more about in this Wiki article.
We will respectfully cast only your loved one’s hair or fur into resin and give you a choice of beads. You can see Nikki’s YouTube tutorials here and know that I never film without your permission. I’m considered an expert and offer advanced courses in making memorial jewellery, so you’re in safe hands. You might see my designs and stock images elsewhere because other memorial artists buy them from me over on Keepsaker Supplies (you’re welcome to buy from there if you’d rather DIY!)

You can view our colour option galleries here (click) for lots of examples of pieces using that colour mix. Each piece will look unique because of the natural colours of the hair or fur and we can’t predict the results. The photos in the gallery are EXAMPLES and the results will vary. We will use our best efforts with white hair, which is clear in resin, to give the hair some depth and bounce some light off the strands. If you’d like us to use grey, white, salt and pepper or very light blonde hair then it may or may not show up in the resin, have a look at this gallery

We’ll send you a kit a week or so after you order and here’s some advice on sending it in, please read it. It’s really important you keep some hair back just in case. You can send us a photo on our Facebook page of the amount you have, so we can tell you how much of it we need.

You can request some extras in your piece by clicking here. For example, our forget me not flower and gold leaf are very popular – please make sure you see the example photos (as always) to ensure you have a good idea of how they might look. Usually, less is more!

Gold European Keepsake Bead Findings
All gold European beads come with solid gold insert that fit in perfectly with other beads like Pandora and Trollbeads. Our charm bead insert hole size is around 4.5mm and should fit all Pandora, Biagi or Chamilia bracelets etc. They are solid 9ct gold, 375 hallmarked yellow or rose gold and made from scratch in our small workshop in Bath. Our gold beads are hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office and fully fitted (not glued in) so the core goes all the way through the middle.
Bead Engraving
Our blank bead cores are available to be engraved with a few words.
Engraving can be done in Arial font as standard, Times New Roman, or Silver South Serif but please remember the core is quite small and it will curve around so the letters must be small. We don’t recommend image engraving or handwriting fonts like Vivaldi, Amazone BT or Silver South Script because they are a little too small to read. Click on each font to see it “in action” with your chosen words. We can work with any font, please get in touch to discuss alternatives. Copy and paste these emojis, sometimes the ones on a phone or tablet aren’t accepted when you try to add to basket!

We have blogs with memorial quotes here and baby quotes here. For image engraving see this page – you can add handwriting, fingerprints, footprints, paw prints and handprints or a special pattern for an additional cost.
Add your text, up to 60 characters – upper and lower case, numbers and punctuation in your chosen font. You can choose Roman numerals, birth, marriage or death coordinates (we’re happy to help you work that out), or messages of love, hope, and remembrance. We are even happy to include more “colourful” language!
