This Solid 9ct Gold Hallmarked Umbilical Cord or Placenta Necklace helps us keep our babies close even though they’re only small for a moment. They gain their independence so quickly starting from when the umbilical cord is cut separating them from your shared placenta. 

We will cast a tiny bit of your baby’s cord stump or dried placenta powder into resin and give you a choice of stones. I’m considered an expert and offer advanced courses in making breastmilk and keepsake jewellery, so you’re in safe hands. You might see my designs and stock images elsewhere because other breastmilk artists buy them from me over on Keepsaker Supplies (you’re welcome to buy from there if you’d rather DIY!)

You can pick one of our colour mixes, or choose “classic cord” for your gold cord teardrop necklace. Click on this colour options page to see more info about each variation, including how we place each of the colours and shimmers. Each piece will look unique because of the natural colours of the umbilical cord and placenta powder and we can’t predict the results. Colours vary from yellow and brown, orange and red, black, pink and brown and everything in between.

We’ll send you a kit a week or so after you order and here’s some advice on sending it in, please read it. It’s really important you keep some ash back and don’t send too much. “Less is more” with keepsake jewellery.

They come with an 18″/45cm very lightweight adjustable chain. If you already have a chain or would like to purchase solid gold chain from us here we are happy to give you a £20 discount on this necklace. They also make stunning dangle charms for Pandora or Thomas Sabo style bracelets.

Real Gold Settings

A gold cord jewellery necklace or dangle charm. We will make your necklace with a 10mm round bezel cup with loop. Please take good care of your piece and follow all care instructions! Please see my blog on Types of Gold on my sister website where I teach keepsake jewellery making to understand more about rolled gold or gold filled jewellery. These will be hallmarked.

engraving your hallmarked placenta or cord necklace

Engraving is done in Arial font as standard but you can see our text engraving page and request any font you like. You can request any emoji, here are some examples. Don’t copy and paste these, write *sun emoji* instead.

We have a blog with baby quotes here and memorial quotes here. For image engraving see this page – you can add handwriting, fingerprints, footprints and handprints or a special image or pattern. Please note, the necklace price doesn’t include engraving this must be added to the basket in addition to the necklace.
