Healing Through Art: A Guide to Tree of Opals Ashes Jewellery
Losing a loved one or a pet is often a heavy burden. Ashes jewellery isn’t about dwelling on death; it’s about carrying the light and love of that person with you every day. It’s something that helps you leave the depths of grief and focus on happy memories whilst you touch a little part of them.
Finding Light in the Darkness
Our job is transforming a painful reminder into a beautiful, wearable connection. Nikki’s been creating beautiful ashes jewellery for over a decade and teaches the techniques for a living. We only need a pinch of your loved ones’ cremains to make a little piece of art.

Why Choose Ashes Jewellery?
The Power of Proximity: The comfort of feeling a physical weight or a “presence” against your skin during moments of grief.
A Shared Legacy: We can make a family order from a small amount of ashes so siblings or family members can all feel connected.
A Private Tribute: Unlike an urn on a shelf, jewellery lets you to keep your memorial private and personal.
The Tree of Opals Craftsmanship
Ashes are handled with dignity and artistic flair.
Did You Know?
Ashes are as unique as fingerprints. Depending on the cremation process, they can range from stark white to deep charcoal, making every single piece of jewellery 100% one-of-a-kind. Natural ashes can look like white sand, grey granite, or dark pepper and we see everything from pinks and aqua flecks throughout and even special little inclusions like wire springs! Here’s a gallery to show you classic ashes:
Most clients prefer adding a “Resin Sparkle Mix” or crushed opal, gold leaf, or a colourway like “Beach Scene” or “Galaxy” background to reflect the person’s personality.
The Process: Trust and Respect
Your loved one’s ashes will be handled with a dignified process. We usually light a candle and incense and every single speck of ashes is handled with respect. Only a tiny amount of ash is needed (about a half or quarter of a teaspoon) and everything is returned, even spare stones we might make. We’ll post you a free Collection Kit and you send it back to us tracked so we can see where it is.
The process is made simple and stress-free during a difficult time. Our pieces aren’t fast (let us know if you need it for a specific date, before you order, we can usually help you skip the queue). Pieces are returned in beautiful packaging with a little wish bracelet, instructions for caring for your jewellery and a free polishing cloth.
Baby Ashes
We have a massive privilige as artists to have been given hundreds of babies’ ashes to work with. We treat every grain with the respect and love and we try to do baby memorials free of charge (pro bono) when we can. See our Baby Memorial page here.
