Our Sentimental Casting service breathes new life into your own solid carat gold, transforming it into a piece of bespoke jewellery that continues your unique story.

Your Precious Gold and Precious Stones

• We will send you a kit after you place your order, it will contain pots and labels for your loved ones’ old gold
• Please photograph pieces you’re sending us and give us full descriptions or even better, a video. Note that we are fully insured for this type of work
• You can send rings, chains and precious stones and the jewellery doesn’t even need to be cleaned first!
• We can include some elements as they are in your new design including precious stones, as well as adding your loved ones’ cremation ashes and hair

The Design Consultation

Together we can work on the design, you can choose from any of our gold jewellery designs, or we can create something entirely new and bespoke. Our gold jewellery collection is here. Finished pieces over 1g will be hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office with our Tree of Opals maker’s mark.
The Casting and Creation Process
Nikki and her team will remove any precious stones and pieces you want to keep whole, then use a small torch to melt your gold.  We can even turn yellow gold into rose gold with some careful mathmatics and special attention. Using precision and skill we end up with an “ingot” that’s then rolled out into the sheet or wire we need. Rings and pendants are meticulously crafted from scratch using this wonderful material you’ve sent.

Sometimes we can add inclusions such as cremation ashes directly into casts and ingots to create an organic texture and natural inclusions in the gold.

Or, if your design is a cast ring such as the Gold Hannah Rings and the Gold Ayla Rings then we will send this off to Jon at Black Arts Casting. They are incredibly honest and have a great reputation within the industry, specialising in sentimental casting.

Refining and Gold Loss
Only on request and for an additional charge, we may add a little fresh 24ct gold to give the gold a warmer colour or bring up the carat from 9ct to 14ct for example. There may be metal lost in the process of refining or rolling the gold. We don’t collect and return dust and sprues but if there’s a large amount of gold we can return this to you or exchange it for store credit.
