A lock of hair of fur is one of the most enduring physical connections we have to someone we love, whether a person or a beloved pet. Hair memorial jewellery is more accessible than other memorial types because it’s possible whether your loved one is buried or cremated.

Here at Tree of Opals we treat every single strand as precious. Every strand is returned to you whether it’s the extra that’s cut to create the jewels or the extra stones we make in the process. None is thrown away and we burn incense to honour them whilst we’re working.

Versatility of Hair Inclusions: Hair Memorial Jewellery for All

You can send us a lock of hair from an adult or a baby, fur from a dog, cat, or other fur baby, horse (mane/tail), or even combine the hair with ashes.

The hair is usually arranged in a wave across the stone but you can request shapes such as a heart, crossed over, tree of life or it can be sprinkled in like fairy dust. We can work with white hair which can sometimes be seen in the resin, but sometimes the hair melts in. We can add pigment on request but you may be happy just to know it’s there.

Your Design & Materials

From subtle silver beads and charms for your Pandora or Thomas Sabo bracelet, to luxury hallmarked gold rings and necklaces, to affordable ceramic. Most of our settings are made by hand in-house (Nikki creates these designs for other businesses too because she teaches on her site Keepsaker Supplies).

All of our text engraving is free of charge and you can even send us a photo of a birthday card so we can include their handwriting

Options for colours and sparkles are unlimited with precious metal leaf, birthstone and bello opals, diamond powder and even forget me nots to symbolise a lifelong memory. We’ve been established since 2015 and have worked with thousands of locks of hair and fur.

How To Send Hair

We use a kit system (labelled pots, tracking) to reassure you that your precious items are safe. We’ll send you the kit with full instructions, it’s included in the shipping price. You can send us other items like dried petals from a funeral or fabric like a dress, tie or tartan. View our products here and arrange an appointment in our Bath workshop or order online.
