Breast Milk Jewellery UK: Meet the Expert

Welcome to the science and soul behind breastmilk jewellery making. I'm Nikki Lovegrove and I first started making breastmilk jewellery in 2015 when my Hannah was teeny. By making friends in the community with other jewellers and artists, I started a second business, KeepsakerSupplies.com and began teaching this full time the following year. I've spent over a decade perfecting the exact science of preserving it so it lasts a lifetime!

Teaching & Perfecting

Breast milk requires meticulous preservation to prevent spoiling or yellowing inside the resin. Although some jewellers just dry the milk, it can give spots of damage and an uneven colour and eventually spoil. With over 11 years' experience teaching these specific craft techniques to others, I've seen and solved every challenge the medium presents. I'm the veteran authority, not just a hobbyist! You absolutely can DIY but if you'd rather trust your milk to the expert, then order here on Tree of Opals

Breast Milk Jewellery UK: Empowering Other Artists

Breastmilk is something I live and breathe. Although my youngest, Lexi is six now and I've stopped nursing her, I still volunteer as a breastfeeding peer supporter. At the time of writing, I'm about to redo my qualification (thankfully not a lot has changed in the six years since I started). I try to give every client a bit of time too, so if you've had a really hard journey with your breastfeeding, please give us a shout and you'll get a listening ear. I don't do this just for the money, although it's lovely to not have to depend on anyone else to afford school shoes, and I really love making the pieces. I'm always mentoring new breastmilk jewellery artists too and I have a free course that gives me a lovely warm glow to be able to provide.

What Kind of Breast Milk Jewellery Do I Make?

I offer rings, necklaces, beads and more. My settings are often handmade from scratch from solid sterling anti-tarnish eco silver, recycled rolled gold or solid hallmarked gold. The rings are size-inclusive, so it doesn't matter if shops usually say "your fingers are too small", and I can go up to a Z+16 or more. My necklaces are suitable for everyone and my text engraving is always free. Add your baby's scan photo, hand or footprints, or a special message in Dad's handwriting, for example - we have some breastfeeding quotes here for inspiration. Our beads are suitable for Pandora bracelets or we can make Thomas Sabo style clip on dangle charms. Or choose something different like a keyring, ornament or cufflinks. No matter what your vision is, we offer bespoke settings too. Just send me a drawing of your idea!

Additional Inclusions

You can choose classic breast milk or add baby's umbilical cord stump, first curl or dried placenta powder. If you'd like a birthstone, that's free; just let us know which one (or ones, for twins and siblings). We can combine two lots of milk in one piece or you could choose stacking rings, beads, or stacking pendants. Boobie awards are so special and can be combined in a piece or stacking pieces. That might be precious metal leaf, crushed opal or other precious stones like diamond powder. Each piece is as unique as the baby you've nursed. Whether it's a few days or years, your journey is special and it counts! We can even add a tint to the milk or add shimmers and iridescent flecks. The sky's the limit.
